Your Stay

Program Fee

For individual volunteers and interns, our program fee for individuals is 75 USD per week or 300 USD per month.

Approximately 50% of the volunteer fee goes towards hosting fees (rent, propane, supplies, etc.) and 50% toward project expenses (construction materials, salaries, etc.)

Includes:

  • Onsite orientation and training

  • Purified drinking water

  • Kitchen essentials (propane, matches, cooking oil, etc.)

  • Clean bedding every two weeks.

Housing options

Home stay - $85/week (meals with additional fee)

Hotel - $95/week (no meals included)

Volunteer House - Included in Program Fee. Typically, food costs and preparation duties are shared by everyone in the house.

FAQ

What is the work schedule?

Monday through Friday, 7am – 4pm.

How long are Internship stays?

We accept internships at our school site in San Juan Comalapa, Guatemala, for periods of one week to three months- or more! Individuals, interns and groups are welcome.


Can I work with students?

In order to provide structure, consistency, and efficient use of learning class time, we have made it our policy to limit direct volunteer involvement with the students to fluent Spanish speakers who are here for three months minimum, and who propose a curriculum/lesson plan to the school administrator and teacher prior to their arrival.
